ABOUT KOI FISCH

Photographing, Filmmaking and Martial Arts is like an active and moving meditation for me. Getting into a flow with focus and concentration results into a special freedom and peace of mind. Waiting for the perfect picture often takes hours, sharing the moment with mother nature its landscapes and animals. Experimenting and finding the perfect location, angle and moment.

Through different trips I learned a lot about cultures and people and started to understand myself and my own culture any better. My first contact with a totally different culture was in JAPAN during my Work & Travel stay near Tokyo. I was working for a German company for half a year in 2006 which was so exciting. In 2015 I traveled through NEW ZEALAND for 3 months on the North and South Island. It was the first intense photo journey. My latest project was a 2,5 months long stay in ICELAND for photographing and filmmaking in 2020. During the last years I self-studied much about the technical and visual aspects from the very beginning.

I love martial arts, with a main focus on Karate-Do & Kobudo which is enriched by Systema, Qi-Gong and Za-Zen.
